July
  • Beginning of fiscal year
August
  • New fiscal year property taxes are certified
  • Mailing of property tax & special assessment statements
September
  • First half property tax due September 1, delinquent after September 30.
October
  • First half property tax delinquent as of October 1. Late interest accrues at the rate of 1.5% per month (rounded to nearest dollar).
November
  • November 15 - Tax sale buyers may pay subsequent delinquent taxes on properties with outstanding tax sales.
  • Delinquent notices are mailed to owners of property in Dallas County in which the previous September taxes are still outstanding.
December
  • Ag Deferred Statements Due by December 31.
January
  • Senior Citizen/Disabled Credit and Rent Reimbursement forms become available. Qualified individuals can apply between January 1 & June 30.
February
March
  • Second half property tax due March 1, delinquent after March 31.
April
  • Second half property tax delinquent as of April 1. Late interest accrues at the rate of 1.5% per month (rounded to nearest dollar).
May
  • Delinquent notices are mailed to owners of property in which delinquent taxes are owed.
  • May 15 - Tax sale buyers may pay subsequent delinquent taxes on properties with outstanding tax sales.
June
  • Senior Citizen/Disabled Credit forms are due by June 1st .
    Annual Tax Sale is held at the Dallas County Human Services Campus
