07-23-2024 – Flood Damage Zoning Permit Requirements

As property owners in rural Sioux County contemplate clean up and repairs following recent flooding, the Sioux County Planning and Zoning office is reminding residents to obtain Floodplain and building compliance permits BEFORE repairing or rebuilding flood-damaged structures. 07-17-2024 – Change Of Location for Drivers License Issuance

In an effort to better serve the public and increase our efficiency within the Treasurer’s Office, the Sioux County Driver’s License issuance location will be moved to Orange City. Our last day of service in Sioux Center will be Tuesday, July 16. We currently anticipate an opening of Thursday, July 25 in the Treasurer’s office in Orange City, which is directly East of the Courthouse. In case of any delays with our project, before planning a trip in the near term, please check our website siouxcountyia.gov for updates.

06-24-2024 – Sioux County Deputy Sheriff Opening – Entrance Examinations

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office is looking to hire a dedicated, professional, and driven individual for an open Full-Time Deputy Sheriff position.  Entrance Examinations are scheduled on August 13, 2024.

STARTING PAY: $33.84 – $39.81 per hour, dependent upon training and experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: U.S. citizen; resident of Sioux County, IA; High School diploma or GED; at least 21 years of age, or 18 years of age with an Associate degree; never convicted of a felony/misdemeanor involving moral turpitude; no charges of DWI or DUI; never convicted of any family violence offense

Iowa certified peace officers who are currently working in or are within 180 days of leaving peace officer employment in good standing with an Iowa agency do not need to take the physical agility test or POST exam but will still need to attend an oral interview on August 13, 2024.
