04-01-2024 – Sioux County Deputy Sheriff Openings – Entrance Examinations

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office is looking to hire dedicated, professional, and driven individuals for two (2) open Full-Time Deputy Sheriff positions. Entrance Examinations are scheduled on May 20, 2024.

STARTING PAY: $33.84 – $39.81 per hour, dependent upon training and experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: U.S. citizen; resident of Sioux County, IA; High School diploma or GED; at least 21 years of age, or 18 years of age with an Associate degree; never convicted of a felony/misdemeanor involving moral turpitude; no charges of DWI or DUI; never convicted of any family violence offense

Iowa certified peace officers who are currently working in or are within 180 days of leaving peace officer employment in good standing with an Iowa agency do not need to take the physical agility test or POST exam but will still need to attend an oral interview on May 20, 2024.

Sioux County Conservation’s spring/summer environmental education opportunities are listed here.  You can sign up for programs on the website.  Registration opens approximately one month before event.

08-31-2023 – Treasurer’s Office Has Moved

Update: The Sioux County Treasurer’s Office is now open in their new location east of the Courthouse at 211 Central Avenue SE in Orange City.

Property tax payments can still be made online, put in our current drop box, or sent in the mail to our address: Sioux County Treasurer, PO Box 77, Orange City, IA 51041. Please remember you have the entire month of September to make a tax payment without penalty. The Drivers License team will be in the Sioux Center Mall during their regular hours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday for the time being.

06-22-2023 – Driver’s License Convenience Fee

Effective July 1, 2023, customers who DO NOT reside in Sioux County will be assessed a $10.00 convenience fee for the issuance or renewal of a driver’s license or non-operator’s identification card unless they pay property tax in Sioux County and are able to provide proof of payment. THIS $10.00 CONVENIENCE FEE MUST BE PAID IN CASH. (Iowa Code 321M.9)
